Glen Burnie Library Employee Test Positive For Coronavirus

The library will remain open. The employee was not symptomatic at work and has not been at the library since July 11.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — An employee at the Glen Burnie Library has tested positive for coronavirus. The employee was not symptomatic at work and has not been at the library since July 11. The library will remain open at this time. According to the Anne Arundel County Public Library, contract tracing is being carried out by health department staff and only people at an increased risk will be notified.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health has determined that since the library’s July 6 reopening, library staff and customers have been following proper health and safety protocols and the library is able to remain open. The precautions include required mask usage, distancing of at least six feet, sneeze guards at points of interaction, limited numbers of customers in the building at one time and enhanced cleaning.

An employee at the Odenton branch of the Anne Arundel County Public Library tested positive for coronavirus last week. The North Arundel Aquatic Center in Glen Burnie shut down after a guest at the pool tested positive for the coronavirus. The guest used the pool between July 7 and July 14.
