Glen Burnie Man Celebrates Birthday With $30K Lottery Win

GLEN BURNIE, MD - Just in time for his 60th birthday, a Glen Burnie man won $30,000 on a Diamond Bingo scratch ticket from the Maryland Lottery. The married dad of two grown children told the Maryland Lottery that he plays scratch tickets every day. The winning ticket was purchased at Champion Liquors in Glen Burnie.

"All I needed was the B6 on the Bingo card and then, there it was," he said.

At first, the man thought he had won $30 until he showed it to his wife. She determined that he had won $30,000 instead.

“She looked at me wide-eyed and told me it was $30,000,” he said.

He quickly signed his ticket and hid it until he claim his prize. He checked on it every single day, he said. He plans to pay off some bills with his winnings.
