Glen Burnie Man Charged In Deadly Car Crash: Police
The car crash happened Wednesday at approximately 11:55 p.m. along MD Route 10S/B in the area of the Dover Road overpass.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — A 37-year-old Pasadena man died in a car crash Wednesday at approximately 11:55 p.m. along MD Route 10S/B in the area of the Dover Road overpass. Anthony Jean-louis was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound on MD Route 10 when a southbound black Mercedes E400 driven by 37-year-old Guarav Rawal of Glen Burnie struck the rear of the Wrangler.
According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, Jean-louis lost control of his vehicle after being hit and his Wrangler overturned then struck the right shoulder guardrail, coming to rest in the southbound travel lanes. The Mercedes rotated and came to rest in the southbound shoulder. Rawal took off on foot and was later apprehended in the area of Route 2 and Ordnance Road, the department noted in a police report. Jean-louis was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics.
The primary cause of the crash is the Mercedes failing to control its speed to avoid a collision, the police department disclosed. Speed and alcohol also are believed to be factors in this crash, which is under investigation by the traffic safety section.
