Glen Burnie Men Fire Shots Into Home: Police

The Anne Arundel County Police Department reports the men shot through the front door then fired more shots into the home while leaving.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Two Glen Burnie men were arrested Oct. 11 after Anne Arundel County police officers recovered from their vehicle a loaded Glock handgun they believe was used in a shooting, along with a loaded AR-15 rifle and an Airsoft handgun. Officers arrived at a home in the 400 block of Maple Lane NW to investigate a reported shooting. According to a person living in the home, two men appeared at the house and asked if a woman lived there. The resident replied that no one by that name lived there. The men walked away, but returned again and demanded to see the woman who they believed was there. The resident informed the two men again that there was no one by that name living there.

As the resident shut the door, the men fired one shot through the door and fired several more into the house as they left in their vehicle. No one in the home was injured. While investigating the case, officers found the men's vehicle and tried to stop it, but the driver took off and the officer pursued him until the vehicle hit a curb and quit running. The driver was apprehended but the passenger tried to run off; he was caught a short distance away. The driver, Matthew Ashby Tobin, 43, of Glen Burnie and passenger Seth Ian Campbell, 19, of Glen Burnie, were taken into custody. Northern District detectives are investigating and ask that anyone with information call 410-222-6135 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
