Glen Burnie Motorcyclist Thrown From Bike In Crash
A Glen Burnie man lost control of his motorcycle on Route 10 in Glen Burnie and was thrown, Anne Arundel County Police say.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — A man was seriously injured when he lost control of his motorcycle on Route 10 in Glen Burnie and was thrown, Anne Arundel County Police say. The one-vehicle crash happened shortly after noon on April 20 near Marley Station Road in Glen Burnie.
A 2014 Honda motorcycle driven by Richard Nicholson Jr., 21, of the 100 block of Garrett Road in Glen Burnie was northbound on Route 10 approaching the Marley Station Road overpass. The motorcycle was in the left lane, when police say Nicholson lost control and laid the motorcycle down. The motorcycle slid across the shoulder, onto the grass, and struck a guardrail. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the grass near the guardrail.
Nicholson was taken to a local trauma center with potentially life-threatening injuries, police say. The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be his failure to remain in a single lane, investigators said. Speed and alcohol do not appear to have contributed to this crash.
