Heroin Arrest Stems From Speeding Stop: Police

A man stopped for speeding in Glen Burnie was arrested for heroin possession, Anne Arundel County Police say.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Manchester man stopped for speeding in Glen Burnie was arrested for heroin possession, Anne Arundel County Police say. Damian Berkley Stocks, 22, of the 2600 block of Beckleysville Road, is charged with traffic citations and various charges for possessing a controlled dangerous substance.

A uniformed officer using a radar device to spot speeders Friday morning near Elvaton Road and Wende Way in Glen Burnie saw Stocks' vehicle speeding and stopped him. During the traffic stop, the officer saw what he believed to be drug packaging inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up 11 baggies of suspected heroin, police say.
