Heroin, Cocaine Found In Glen Burnie Driver's Car: Police

A Glen Burnie woman faces six drug charges after heroin and cocaine were found in her vehicle, Anne Arundel County Police say.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie woman faces six drug-trafficking and possession charges after heroin and cocaine were found in her vehicle, Anne Arundel County Police say. The search of the woman's car took place after Robin Tanequa Edwards, 24, of the 100 block of Hammerlee Road in Glen Burnie, reportedly failed to stop for a stop sign.

Police say the stop and subsequent arrest happened Monday night as detectives were conducting surveillance in the area of Fourth Street and Highland Avenue in Brooklyn Park. Just after 10 p.m., detectives saw a black Infiniti Q45 driven by Edwards fail to stop at a stop sign. They conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and a drug canine signaled to its handler the presence of a controlled substance.

When detectives search Edgwards they recovered a plastic bag containing 28 gelatin capsules of suspected heroin, 13 clear baggies containing suspected crack cocaine, and four baggies containing suspected marijuana.

Authorities say the 6.21 grams of heroin is worth an estimated $745, while the 3.7 grams of cocaine is valued at $370 and 3.5 grams of marijuana is worth about $35.

According to Maryland online court records, Edwards is charged with two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and one count of drug possession with intent to distribute, which are all felonies, along with three misdemeanor charges of drug possession, not marijuana.
