Hit-And-Run Crash Claims Gambrills Woman's Life In Linthicum Heights: Police

A Gambrills woman died after a hit-and-run crash in Linthicum Heights, police said. She was 21 years old.

LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, MD — A Gambrills woman died Sunday after a hit-and-run crash in Linthicum Heights, the Maryland State Police said.

Troopers identified the victim as 21-year-old Marian Narain. Authorities think a vehicle hit the victim as she walked away from the scene of her own car wreck.

The collision happened just before 6 a.m. on southbound Maryland Route 295 at Nursery Road. Police said they found the victim lying in the street and a white 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan sitting off the roadway, about 10 to 15 feet over the guardrail.

Troopers believe Narain was driving the Volkswagen southbound on Route 295 approaching Nursery Road when the SUV veered off the street for an unknown reason and crashed.

Investigators think the victim left her car, entered the roadway on foot and was then hit by oncoming traffic.

Medics pronounced the woman dead on the scene, a press release said.

Troopers from the Glen Burnie and Waterloo barracks responded. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration helped with road closures and detours.

The Maryland State Police is still investigating. The agency asked anybody with information to call the Glen Burnie Barrack at (410) 761-5130.
