Image Of Suspected Glen Burnie Rapist Released: Police

The Anne Arundel County Police Department has released a photo of the man they believe raped a woman in Glen Burnie last week.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — An image of the suspect in a rape case has been released by the Anne Arundel County Police Department. The suspect has been described as being 25 to 30 years of ago with short, dark, curly hair and a goatee. The man stands between 5'6 and 5'8.

A woman reported being raped Wednesday at approximately 10 p.m. in the 6300 block of Ritchie Highway. The woman told Anne Arundel County police officers that she had arranged a ride and was picked up by a man in the 800 block of Elkridge Landing Rd., Linthicum. The man drove her to Ritchie Highway and circled around a parking lot then stopped by dumpsters. He pulled the woman from the vehicle and behind the dumpsters.

A witness who saw the man drag the woman from the vehicle and behind the dumpsters told a hotel lobby clerk to call 911, according to a police report. The man was armed with a knife, the woman said. She was sexually assaulted and had personal items taken. After the assault, she ran into the hotel lobby for help.

Detectives searched the area for the vehicle, sought witnesses from the point where the woman had been picked up and secured digital evidence. The man was driving a dark-colored Hundai sedan at the time, the victim told police.
