Magic With Jay Mattioli, Glen Burnie Orchestra Gala Concert and a Home & Garden Show

Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday, March 4, in the auditorium at Eagle Cove School in Pasadena, 5191 Mountain Rd.

Why Go: Jay Mattioli is an internationally renowned magician who is performing at Eagle Cove to celebrate the reopening of the school's north building after a fire last year. Jay recently finished shows in Atlantic City, Egypt and Kuwait and has even been a contestant on "America's Got Talent." Your entire family is sure to have a good time. Why Go: Students from fourth grade through middle school perform with the high school students. The event is open to the public. For more information contact Glen Burnie High School at cmcmahan@aacps.org.

MICHAELS CRAFTS FREE FAMILY EVENT

Where/When: 10 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, March 2, at the Michaels store on Mountain Road in Glen Burnie. 

Why Go: A free family event where children can make their own bookmark to take home. It's free and children ages 3 and up are welcome.

Pricing: Free!

SCIENCE ALIVE FOR KIDS UNDER FIVE: FISH!

Where/When: 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center in Baltimore.

Why Go: Kids will have fun exploring the world of fish through stories, activities, and a live touch tank. A snack and a take home craft will be provided. For more information call 410-246-0669 or e-mail

Pricing: Free!

MARYLAND HOME & GARDEN SHOW

Where/When: Saturday and Sunday, March 5 and 6, at the in Timonium, 2200 York Rd. The show also will be going on next weekend from March 11-13 if you can't make it this weekend.

Why Go: There are more than 300 exhibits with everything from bathrooms to kitchens to swimming pools to landscape plants and more. There is bound to be something there for the whole family.

Pricing: $12 adults, $10 seniors, $3 children 6-12, children under 6 free. Craft show only admission is $6. Free admission for active military, police and fire employees with ID.
