Man Arrested After Assault, Firing Gun In Glen Burnie: Police
Dionysios Vinias, 42, was arrested and charged with several offenses after assaulting a man and firing a gun in Glen Burnie, police say.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — Anne Arundel County officers responded to a call for shots fired in the 100 block of Mountain Road Jan. 15 at approximately 9:20 p.m. According to police, a 42-year-old man was speaking with another man when the suspect pointed a .38 caliber Taurus handgun at him, then fired it in a different direction. The man was able to get away and the suspect fled.
Officers searched the area and found the suspect, Dionysios Vinias, 42, on Mountain Road at Long Hill Road. Meanwhile, a 41-year-old man approached police and told them that the suspect had assaulted him with the handgun, saying "You look like a cop." Vinias was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault-First Degree (2 Cts)
- Reckless Endangerment (2cts)
- Loaded Handgun On Person
- Handgun On Person
- Firearm Poss W/Fel Convict
- Reg Firearm: Illegal Possession
- Firearm Use/Fel-Viol Crime
- Illegal Poss Ammo
