Man Takes Gun To Glen Burnie Opioid Treatment Center: Police

According to a police report, the man was at the opioid treatment center asking how to load and work the handgun.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Anne Arundel County police officers were dispatched Thursday at 7:15 a.m. to the Allcare Treatment Center, 550 Crain Highway, for a report of a man with a handgun. According to a police report, the man was asking how to load and work the handgun. After talking to a security officer at the center, the man got into his vehicle and drove away.

Police officers found the man and located the handgun in his backpack. It was unloaded and didn't have a firing pin, nor did he have any ammunition with him, according to a police report. Officers arrested Matthew Damon Petree, 19, of Pasadena and charged him with possession of a handgun by a minor.

Allcare Treatment Center is an outpatient substance abuse treatment program for opioid dependence.
