Guests Cut through Car Using Holmatro’s Innovative Rescue & Safety Tools

(Columbia, Maryland) – Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MD MEP), the one and only resource for growing and advancing manufacturing in the State of Maryland, held its Make it in Maryland Program’s July 2015 ‘Cheers to Gears’ event on Tuesday, July 21, at Holmatro in Glen Burnie, Md.

Tuesday’s ‘Cheers to Gears’ event kicked off with a brief networking reception and a special presentation from John Freeburger, Holmatro’s Vice President of Manufacturing. Following the presentation, guests were given a tour of Holmatro’s Glen Burnie facility. On the tour, guests were offered the chance to put Holmatro’s tools to the test by cutting through a car at the company’s on-site training ground. Maryland-made food and drink was provided by Mission BBQ, RavenBeer, Lyon Distilling Co. and Diamondback Brewing Co.

For MD MEP’s Make it in Maryland Program members, along with local manufacturers interested in learning more about the program, the ‘Cheers to Gears’ events are designed to show the organization’s continued support and appreciation for companies that invest in Maryland. The Make it in Maryland Program’s ‘Cheers to Gears’ events are hosted monthly by different Make it in Maryland Program members, with an ultimate goal to provide invested companies with an opportunity to experience new facilities, network with and learn more about their Make It In Maryland counterparts.

“We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to host our ‘Cheers to Gears’ event for the month of July at Holmatro’s exciting facility in Glen Burnie,” said Brian Sweeney, Executive Director of Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership. “These events provide Maryland manufacturers with an inside scoop on what other manufacturers in Maryland are working to accomplish, while providing a great picture of what those companies are doing to help better their respective communities.”
