Military Member Treats Starbucks Customers to $200 in Coffee

A military member bought $200 worth of coffee and snacks Tuesday for customers of the Starbucks shop at Arundel Mills Shopping Center.

Employees of the coffee shop in Hanover told WNEW that a woman in uniform asked to recharge her gift card with $200. She then gave the card to the Starbucks works and instructed them to use the $200 to pay for any purchases made by customers until the money was depleted.

Starbucks employees said the unidentified woman wasn’t a regular customer.

There was no word if she might be stationed at nearby Fort Meade.

Customer Nelson Franklin, a retired military member treated by the generous customer, told the TV station, “It’s a great feeling, because usually we want to give it to [the military] — try to keep them going. But now this is giving back to the regular people, which is good.”
