Here are the top stories in Glen Burnie today:
- Olivia Dee-Rose Thompson abandoned her newborn in July 2021. A passerby saw the infant on the B & A Trail in Glen Burnie and notified police. Thompson received a 10-year sentence with all but 18-months served. (U.S. News & World Report)
- The hit-and-run boating accident this past Sunday is now a homicide. A boat traveling at a high rate of speed ended up on top of another boat. Laura Slattery, 63, of Pasadena, died from her injuries and the man also sustained injuries. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the police. (WBAL)
- De'Lass Reid has been arrested in connection to an armed robbery when two men were shot. Reid attempted to rob two people when a fight broke out. Reid then shot them both and fled the scene. He was then pulled over for a vehicle violation where the gun was found, and he was arrested on scene. (News Break)
- This July 4 marks two years since a murder that happened in 2020. Justin Keith Beasley Jr, from North Carolina was just 19 years old when he took a bullet to the chest. Efforts were made to save his life, but he died as a result of his injuries. This is a cold case that the police need help solving. Anyone with any information, please call the police. (The Bay Net)
