More Than 1,500 Students, Staff At AACPS In Quarantine Due To COVID-19
More than 1,500 students and staff with Anne Arundel County Public Schools are in quarantine due to COVID-19.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — More than 1,500 students and staff at Anne Arundel County Public Schools are quaranting due to either positive COVID-19 test results or have been exposed to someone who tested positive. There are 1,488 students and 29 staff members considered to be active school cases.
According to the school district, those in quarantine also include individuals who have COVID-like symptoms and are probably cases. The data is pulled from tracing done in school and in the community. AACPS consists of 128 schools serving approximately 83,000 students with a staff of more than 6,826 teachers.
As of Oct. 8, there are 51,343 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Anne Arundel County. More than half of the county's population is fully vaccinated, 340,999 people.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health's clinics are held by appointment or walk-in. To schedule an appointment, sign up here. Some clinics are held at the Anne Arundel Community College (Arnold), Baymeadow (Glen Burnie), Lula G. Scott Community Center (Shady Side) and the Pip Moyer Recreation Center (Annapolis).
