MVA Headquarters Closes Unexpectedly Thursday

GLEN BURNIE, MD — The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration's headquarters is closed Thursday, July 22. Officials made the announcement Thursday afternoon that the branch office in Glen Burnie would be closed for the rest of the day.

A contractor hit a high-pressure gas line near the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) headquarters on Ritchie Highway around 10:30 a.m., according to WBAL, which reported gas leaked into the building, which was evacuated.

Around 12:30 p.m., the MVA reported it would be closed for the rest of the day Thursday, and people who had appointments would be contacted to reschedule.
