North County Student Wins $20K Scholarship
Cierra Carter was named a 2013 Dell Scholar by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
A North County High School student was one of two in Anne Arundel County named 2013 Dell Scholars by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
Cierra Carter, a senior at North County, and Jasmyn Mackell, of Annapolis High School, earned $20,000 scholarships each in addition to a laptop computer and printer, according to Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).
Carter is an AVID student and will be the first in her family to attend college, according to AACPS. She is ranked sixth in a class of 440 students and will either attend University of Maryland College Park or Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She will reportedly study either journalism or intercultural studies.
