October Musical Events at Annapolis Senior Activity Center

A tribute to Elvis Presley and a taste of Motown are among the musical performances lined up at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center.

From a news release:

Annapolis Senior Activity Center members are invited to attend seven free musical events in October at the center at 119 S. Villa Avenue, Annapolis. All of the events are at 12:30 p.m.

The events kick off on Oct. 1 with Gerry Swarbrick singing and playing his acoustic guitar.

On Oct. 8 Rearview Mirror will perform classic tunes from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

The concerts continue on Oct. 15 with Ray “Apollo” Allen and company giving the seniors a taste of the rhythms of Motown.

The Pascal Go Getters, a song and dance group from the Pascal Senior Center in Glen Burnie, will pay tribute to Elvis Presley when they bring their fall show to Annapolis on Oct. 16.

On Oct. 22, Trudy Marie Woomer will sing country classics at the center.

Seniors can enjoy a performance by Red Right Return and an Ice Cream Sandwich Social on Oct. 27. The Red Right Return band features performances by Annapolis Senior Activity Center members and Annapolis Seniors, Inc. board members Harry and Francine Latimer and Chuck Moore. The band is characterized by its “old time rock ‘n’ roll.”

Last, but not least, the Bates Jazz Ensemble will be the featured performer at the center’s Halloween party on Oct. 29. Seniors are encouraged to wear black and orange or anything Halloween. Come and enjoy a few Halloween treats.
