GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie woman was treated at the hospital Wednesday afternoon after her house caught fire, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. A passerby helped the 68-year-old woman escape the blaze in the 7600 block of Quarterfield Road around 12:30 p.m. before firefighters arrive.
Firefighters saw flames coming from the front porch of the two-story single-family home when they arrived. Someone passing by the scene assisted the only occupant of the house, a 68-year-old female, in evacuating before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters extinguished the fire in less than 10 minutes with minimal extension to the inside of the home.
