Out-of-Control House Party Ends With Annapolis Man's Arrest

An out-of-control house party in Glen Burnie ended with the arrest of an Annapolis man for drug sales and guests being kicked out by police.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — An out-of-control house party Saturday in Glen Burnie ended with the arrest of an Annapolis man for drug sales and guests being kicked out by police. By 2 a.m. Sunday, neighbors had complained to Anne Arundel County Police about the large party in the 100 block of Margate Drive, and the resident hosting the party told officers the gathering had gotten out of hand.

The party host asked officers to help disperse party guest, which police did. While clearing the house with the resident, officers reportedly found Jaquan Smith, 20, of the 1900 block of East Copeland Street in Annapolis, in a locked bathroom.

Authorities say Smith had with him a loaded .380 handgun, over 42 grams of marijuana packaged for distribution, and cocaine. Smith was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance not marijuana, and possession of a handgun.

Police spokesman Marc Limansky tells Patch the party was beginning to break up as the officers arrived, so they're not sure how many guests might have been at the scene. The homeowner was concerned more by the unknown guests at his house than the number of people present. There we about 15 people outside the house when officers arrived.
