Patriot House to Be Completed by Veterans Day
A new facility in Brooklyn Park will provide transitional housing for homeless veterans.

A this week in Brooklyn Park celebrated Patriot House, a facility that will provide housing for up to six homeless veterans.
An existing building on the site will be demolished and replaced by a 3,000-square-foot facility, according to a release from the county executive's office. The $633,750 project is the first of its kind in Anne Arundel County and is reportedly funded by a combination of federal, state and county grants.
County Executive John R. Leopold, Kathleen Koch, CEO of Anne Arundel Community Development Services Inc. and officials from House of Hope attended the groundbreaking event.
“We have a responsibility to support our veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country," Leopold said. "Many are suffering from ailments such as post traumatic stress syndrome or drug addiction. This project is part of our safety net services to help the homeless and our veterans.”

The completion date for Patriot House is Nov. 11, which is Veterans Day.
