Pedestrian, 89, Fatally Struck In Glen Burnie: Police
A pedestrian died after a car hit him in Glen Burnie, police said. The victim was 89 years old.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A pedestrian died after a car hit him Thursday in Glen Burnie, county police said.
Officers identified the victim as 89-year-old Xiu Zhi Dai of Glen Burnie.
Authorities said the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. in the 7300 block of E. Furnace Branch Road.

Police said the pedestrian first crossed the southbound lanes of E. Furnace Branch Road, and a vehicle swerved to avoid hitting him.
Officers said the man then continued walking across the northbound lanes, where a 2018 Jeep Wrangler struck him.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene, authorities said.
Police said he was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing.
The Jeep driver stayed on the scene, officers said.
Authorities said the victim's body was taken to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating the crash.
