Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Truck In Brooklyn Park: Police

A pedestrian died after a pick-up truck hit him in Brooklyn Park, Anne Arundel County police said. The Baltimore man was 18 years old.

BROOKLYN PARK, MD — A pedestrian died after a pick-up truck hit him in Brooklyn Park, the Anne Arundel County Police Department announced Wednesday.

Officers identified the victim as 18-year-old Carlos Enrique Ho-Macz of Baltimore.

Authorities said the fatal pedestrian crash happened Sunday around 3:30 a.m. near Church Street and Liberty Terrace.

Police said a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado was heading east on Church Street and approaching the intersection when the pedestrian stepped into the roadway.

The Chevrolet then hit the pedestrian, officers said.

Authorities said the driver immediately exited his truck, called 911 and tried to give emergency medical aid to the pedestrian.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene, a press release said.

Officials took the victim's body to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the exact manner of death, the release said.

With the help of the FBI, Anne Arundel County police said they identified the victim as Ho-Macz on Tuesday.

Officers said the driver was not hurt.
