Pedestrian Hit, Killed In Glen Burnie Crash: Police
A pedestrian crossing against a signal was fatally struck by a Severn driver on Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie, police said.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Severn driver on Quarterfield Road in Glen Burnie on Thursday, Anne Arundel County Police said.
The fatal accident happened about 6:35 p.m. at the intersection of Quarterfield Road at Parke West Drive.
A 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 was eastbound on Quarterfield Road approaching the intersection with Parke West Drive when it struck Peter Lee Stankiewicz, 37, of no fixed address, as he walked across the road. Stankiewicz was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics.

The victim wore dark, non-reflective clothing, the police report said.
Irving Bowie Hall III, 41, of Severn, drove the pickup truck; he was not injured.

The deceased was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Investigators said pedestrian error is believed to be the primary cause of the crash; Stankiewiczcrossed the intersection against the traffic control device.
