Anne Arundel Police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck that hit a pedestrian in Glen Burnie Thursday night and drove off.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Authorities are searching for the driver of a pickup truck that hit a pedestrian in Glen Burnie Thursday night and drove off. The pedestrian was critically injured and is hospitalized at an area trauma center, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
The accident happened about 6 p.m. in the 7500 block of Ritchie Highway when the pedestrian, who police have not identified, tried to cross the northbound lanes of Ritchie Highway from the grass median. The man wore dark, non-reflective clothing and was struck by a pickup truck, possibly a General Motors model.
Police said the driver fled northbound on Ritchie Highway and then made a right turn onto Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard toward Route 10.

The suspect vehicle may be a 2009 to 2014 dark-colored Ford F-150 pickup.
Investigators said it appears pedestrian error was the primary cause of this crash.
