Police Ask For Tips In Glen Burnie Man's Murder

A Glen Burnie man died at an area hospital from gunshot wounds he suffered Monday night, Anne Arundel County Police say.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A Glen Burnie man died at an area hospital from gunshot wounds he suffered Monday night, Anne Arundel County Police say. Investigators are asking for witnesses to contact police with tips that can lead to the shooter.

Police were called to a report that a man had been taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie about 8 p.m Monday. The victim — Dantae Nashaun Simmons, 23, of Glen Burnie — had been driven to the hospital by a witness. Simmons died as a result of his injuries.

Detectives talked to witnesses who led them to a crime scene in the 500 block of Short Curve Road in Glen Burnie. Preliminary information indicates Simmons may have known the person who shot him and that this was not a random act of violence.
