Police: Driver in Critical Condition After Car Crash in Lothian

A man is in critical condition after his vehicle struck a utility pole in Anne Arundel County.

Speed and alcohol are suspected factors in a single-vehicle crash Thursday that left a North Beach man in critical condition, according to a release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Officers from the Southern District were dispatched at about 7:40 p.m. Thursday to the area of Greenock Road and Brookswoods Road in Lothian. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 1993 Chevrolet Blazer was northbound on Greenock Road and failed to negotiate the curve prior to Brookswoods Road.

Authorities said the 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer left the roadway, struck several bushes and then hit a utility pole before stopping between the two road.
