Police Impersonator Robs Victim In Glen Burnie: Officers

A police impersonator robbed a victim in Glen Burnie, officers said. Detectives are still looking for the suspect, who ran away.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A police impersonator robbed a victim this weekend in Glen Burnie, county police announced Monday.

Officers said the robbery happened Saturday around 1 a.m. in the 100 block of Crain Highway North.

Authorities said the suspect approached the victim, who was sitting in his vehicle.

The suspect told the victim that he was an undercover police officer and requested the victim's license, a press release said.

Authorities said the suspect reached into the vehicle and took the victim's wallet as he retrieved his license.

The suspect then ran away toward Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and the Glen Burnie Town Center, police said.

Officers described the suspect as a white male of average height with dark hair and a beard. Authorities said he wore a skull cap, green sweatpants and a dark-colored sweatshirt with a white logo on the front.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
