Positive Coronavirus Case Shuts Down North Arundel Aquatic Center
The Glen Burnie pool will be deep cleaned and reopen in 14 days after a guest tested positive for coronavirus.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — The North Arundel Aquatic Center in Glen Burnie has been shut down after a guest at the pool tested positive for the coronavirus. The aquatic center's staff has been following protocol by wearing masks, engaging in social distancing, proper and frequent hand washing, and sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces in the facility, according to the county health department. But because of the potential prolonged exposure to both guests and staff, the pool has been closed and the center will be deep cleaned.
Anyone with symptoms of the coronavirus who used the pool between July 7 and July 14 should quarantine for 14 days from the last day at the pool and get tested three to five days after the first exposure at the pool, the health department noted. Call the Anne Arundel County Department of Health at 410-222-7256 to get tested.
