In the last two years
Anne Arundel County has made a tremendous investment in its youth
through the vision of the Performance and Visual Arts Magnet Program.
The Mission of the Performing and Visual Magnet programs is to provide
students who demonstrate artistic ability, interest and potential a
curriculum of rigorous training that emphasizes the creative process
through collaborative opportunities.
In 2012 that vision was finally realized on the High School Level.
Specifically in this show, the visual arts and film students are being
featured. Their work will be showcased throughout the month of May in
the Chesapeake Arts Center gallery. During the opening on May 9th, the
students will be able to talk through the work and the film students
will be showcasing their films in the Studio 194 theatre. These works
have been a culmination of their one to two years in this program. These
pieces represent the collective thoughts, beliefs, and feelings of
these extremely talented young men and woman. Their vision has finally
been realized in their first real professional exhibition thanks to the
partnership with the Chesapeake Arts Center!
