Recruiting Master Watershed Stewards - Certification Course Information Session

The Watershed Stewards Academy is currently accepting applications for the next  Master Watershed Steward Certification Course.

Watershed Stewards Academy, located at Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center (Millersville), trains and supports citizens to become Master Watershed Stewards.  Master Watershed Stewards take action with their neighbors to address the problem of stormwater pollution and restore local waterways in Anne Arundel County.  Prospective Stewards need not have prior knowledge; they will receive training to identify and solve environmental problems in their community and form connections with a local network of energized leaders.

Watershed Stewards may choose to serve within the community in which they live, work or worship.    Beginning this year, WSA is partnering with the Alliance for the Chesapeake and Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake to form the Riverwise Congregations program.  Some participants in this year’s certification course will receive specialized training and funding to work with their faith communities through the Riverwise Congregations program.  For information regarding the Riverwise Congregations program, please contact Bonnie Sorak of the Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake: bonnie@interfaithchesapeake.org 410-609-6852.
