- Today is "National Ice Cream Soda Day" and "Meteor Day." Watch for meteors while enjoying an ice cream soda, sounds like a great way to spend a Thursday! (Holidays and Observations)
- Of course, ice cream has a history in Maryland! It seems a milkman named Jacob Fussell had milk delivery routes in Baltimore. He always had some milk and cream left over and began making ice cream out of it. His original ice cream factory was in Pennsylvania, but eventually moved it down to Baltimore. Now we can get ice cream anywhere at any time and sticking to Maryland tradition, we even put "Old Bay" on it! (Preservation Maryland)
- Watching the night sky is always relaxing. Sometimes you get to see some action in the heavens above! Whether it be a beautiful moon, some far off lightning, millions of stars or a meteor shower. Check out the link to see if and when a meteor shower could occur. (AMS Meteors)
