The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Glen Burnie.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, neighbors! Michele here with your brand-new edition of the Glen Burnie Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny. High: 67 Low: 43.

Here are the top stories today in Glen Burnie:

  1. A man is accused of breaking into four businesses in the Chesapeake Square Shopping Center in Glen Burnie. While the police were investigating one break-in, they received another call for a business in the same shopping center. Police were able to locate the suspect hiding behind a dumpster. (Glen Burnie Patch)
  2. Today is "National Drug Take Back Day 2022." All 23 Maryland State Police barracks and other locations are participating. The hours to drop off your unused or unneeded prescription drugs is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Secure boxes will be available, and no questions will be asked when making a drop off. (WBAL TV Baltimore)
  3. Sadly, the iconic "Cafe Hon" will be closing its doors after 30 years. The owner made the announcement 1 week after its 30th anniversary. While the owner may not be running a restaurant anymore, she will still be involved with Baltimore's "Hon Fest." (WMAR 2)
  4. If you were in Pasadena lately, you may have seen retired Army Capt. Kyle Butters running. May not seem too unusual, right? What was unusual was seeing him running with an American flag. This wasn't just an ordinary run though; this was a 44-mile run. He did this to bring mental health awareness to the community. (Newsbreak)
