GLEN BURNIE, MD — Police announced that a son fatally shot his father Wednesday evening outside a Glen Burnie hospital. The son then took his own life in the woods near Windsor Mill, officers said.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the father as 39-year-old Kintrell Todd McEachern of Baltimore. Authorities said the son was 24-year-old Kintrell Todd McEachern Jr.
The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, officials said.

"Our thoughts are with the victim and their family members," the hospital wrote. "We would like to thank the AACoPD Police Department and Fire Department for their rapid response to the situation, and recognize the efforts of hospital staff who took quick action in attempting to render aid to the victim."

The father and son were at the hospital visiting a family member, Shanahan said. There were many relatives at the medical center that night.
Investigators think the son fired multiple shots into his father's torso and one into his head after they got into an argument. The son then drove away.
Medics pronounced the father dead on the scene, Shanahan said. The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on both bodies.
“This is something that we wouldn’t expect to happen in the parking lot of a hospital," Shanahan said at a press conference. "It just goes to show you that domestic incidents or family matters can escalate, and we’re just lucky that no one else was injured in this.”
Nobody else was hurt.
Detectives are still investigating.
