The Sunset in Glen Burnie is the Place to Go for Theatre!
Do or Die Productions is selling out Monday Night Mystery series, and Poe's Last Stanza returns in October
I’ve been a Glen Burnie resident for fifteen years. I’ve killed people for the dining entertainment of others (aka, murder mystery dinner shows) for twenty-six years. Finally, instead of gallivanting up and down the Mid-Atlantic Coast committing murder and mayhem, I can practice my feloniously funny craft right here in my own back yard.
It all started in January with Poe’s Last Stanza, which, oddly enough, is not a murder mystery show. I wanted a video of the show, so that I could market it. We planned to do one show on January 19th - Poe’s birthday. I approached the Sunset Restaurant because it is my favorite restaurant. They agreed to give it a try. To my surprise (and delight), it seems I’ve struck a chord in my hometown. We wound up selling out four shows. Then we decided - what the heck - let’s try murder mystery shows. I wasn’t sure Monday nights would work. Who goes out on a Monday night? The answer is - a lot of folks. We’ve been selling out every month and adding additional shows. Not only do we have a ton of repeat customers, we’re starting to draw from as far away as St. Mary’s County, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
There will be a show every Monday in October. On October 5, 19 and 26th, we are bringing back Poe’s Last Stanza. Poe is not a murder mystery show, but it has the same comedic and interactive elements that are signatures of Do or Die shows. Poe passes the time in a local tavern, matching wits and sharing wisdom with a local barmaid. He may even engage in a little verbal sparring with you!

The regularly scheduled murder mystery show is October 12. The show is Legend of Creepy Hollow and, in honor of Halloween, offers a ghostly twist. In November, and additional show has been added, so Death by Turkey will be presented November 9 and 16.
So, it appears that murder is a permanent fixture on the menu at Sunset. We’ll be announcing our 2016 season at the end of the month. We are sticking with one show on the second Monday of the month for now, but will add shows as we fill up. A different show will be offered every month.
