Suspected Shoplifters Hit Store Employee With Car: Police

The suspects also crashed into a vehicle while trying to elude Anne Arundel County police officers.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Two adults were arrested and a minor released to guardians after police say they shoplifted merchandise from the At Home store at 6716 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie then hit a store employee while trying to flee the scene and crashed into a car. The incident occurred Dec. 4 at approximately 8:25 p.m. When the officers arrived at the store, they saw a silver Honda Accord hit a man. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver took off and then hit a vehicle at the intersection of southbound Ritchie Highway and Georgia Avenue, according to the police department.

Officers apprehended three females, one who was a juvenile. The passengers of the vehicle that was hit by the suspects were injured, as was the store employee who was hit. Officers learned that the three female suspects shoplifted approximately $1,200 worth of merchandise, according to a police report. The juvenile was issued a citation and released to a guardian. Arrested were Kevauna Johnson-Ruffin, 20, of Baltimore, and Keasia Jeffries, 19, of Laurel.
