A man was rescued by a swift water rescue team after he drove his car into a flooded roadway and got stuck early Thursday morning, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Steve Thompson.
The man had flown into Thurgood Marshall BWI Airport from Oregon, got in a rental car and attempted to follow his GPS to an area hotel, Thompson said. The GPS led him to Ridge Road near First Avenue in Linthicum. The roadway flooded from Wednesday's heavy rain, although the street was not blocked off.
