The
Singing Sons of Abraham from First Tabernacle of Baltimore, Maryland,
developed their unique style of vocalization more than 40 years ago.
Over the years, the brethren, under the direction of Charles W. Harris,
Larry Johnson and Jacob Carey, I, Musical Directors, the group added an
array of arrangements, as well as new original songs to their
inspirational repertoire of “a cappella” singing. The group also
performs contemporary secular songs for occasions such as weddings and
private parties, as well as for state and city political functions or
events. They have performed locally at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, the
Lyric, Arena Playhouse, and are favorites at colleges and universities
along the east coast.

Jays, The Platters, Harvey and the Moon Glows and many, many others from the above eras.

As
members of First Tabernacle of Baltimore, Maryland, located at 1606
Ashland Avenue, their local pastor, former Musical Director of the
group, is Evangelist-at-Large Dr. Charles W. Harris. The group’s current
Musical Director is Jacob Carey, II who accepted the position after his
father, Jacob Carey, I, retired in 2013. In 2008, the group launched
their first CD “Try Everyday.” It is a collection of their favorite
gospel and inspirational songs sung “a capella.”

The group also has DVDs of their recent R&B Concerts. The CDs and the DVDs will be on sale at the May 3, 2014 Concert.

Featuring
portrayals of The Temptations, Earth, Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson,
Joe Williams, Nina Simone, The Intruders, Jerry Butler, The Stylistics,
