Townhome Sustains $100K Damage: Fire Officials
A Glen Burnie townhome sustained $100,000 damage Monday night and displaced two residents.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Neighbors reported a significant fire at the rear of a townhome at 496 Willow Bend Dr. March 2 that broke out at approximately 7:20 p.m. The Greenlawn Shores townhome is a three-story unit at the end of the row and by the time firefighters arrived, the fire had already consumed all three levels.
More than two dozen firefighters from two departments responded and had the fire extinguished in half an hour. The fire had reached past the third floor and into the attic. The townhome endured $100,000 in damage. No damage occurred to the attached townhome. An occupant suffered minor injuries, but refused to be treated at the hospital. The Red Cross is helping two adults who were not home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.
