Traffic Alert: Ritchie Highway Closed in Glen Burnie
A truck pulled down wires at 8th Avenue and Ritchie Highway this morning. The highway will be closed for at least 8 hours, police say.
Ritchie Highway will be closed in both directions at 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie for at least eight hours to allow emergency repairs to be made after a boom truck knocked down wires in the area.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department says the mishap occurred just after 9 a.m. Monday.
Numerous delays have already been reported and this will only continue into rush hour.

Currently, Crain Highway is an alternate route, but police are urging drivers to avoid that area all together if possible.
