Underage DUI, Running From Police Charged To 19-Year-Old: Officers
Officers alleged that a Middle River resident, 19, drove under the influence, ran from police and carried an illegal handgun in Glen Burnie.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Police accused a 19-year-old Middle River resident of driving under the influence of marijuana and alcohol last Wednesday in Glen Burnie. Officers also alleged that the suspect ran from authorities and carried an illegal handgun. Police said they arrested the driver, identified as Ryan Keith Smith.
An officer tried to stop a gold Honda Accord around 11:20 p.m. near Ritchie Highway, also known as Maryland Route 2, and Furnace Branch Road. The sedan did not stop, and it sped away. It eventually hit a median and a parked vehicle at Thomas Road and Alview Terrace, a press release stated.
Authorities accused the driver of trying to run away on foot. An officer caught the suspect soon after. The Anne Arundel County Police Department said it then found a loaded Polymer 80 Glock style “ghost gun” with no serial number on the car's driver's side floorboard.
