UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND CENTER FOR WEIGHT MANAGEMENT & WELLNESS OFFERS SEMINAR AT UM BALTIMORE WASHINGTON MEDICAL CENTER

The
University of Maryland Center for Weight Management & Wellness is offering
a free educational seminar at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center on Wednesday,
January 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Dr. Constantine Padussis Conference Center,
located at 301 Hospital Drive on the third floor. Conducted by Dr. Mark
Kligman, the seminar explores a comprehensive surgical approach to weight loss.
Surgical therapy is a treatment option reserved for individuals 18 to 60 years
old who have a body mass index (BMI) over 40 or who have a BMI between 35 and
40 and obesity-related medical complications such as diabetes, significant
cardiovascular disease or sleep apnea.
