· 10:00 a.m., Sat., April 11, 2015, Pre-Season Cleanup Day: Join us at the theatre for a pre-season clean-up day. We’ll clean and organize our stage and seating, lobby, backstage area, dressing rooms, attic, and more. Bring work gloves, and a friend! Snacks and drinks will be provided.
· 7:00 p.m., Thurs., Apr. 30, 2015, Volunteer & Tech. Crew Open House: Want to help our patrons at the Ticket Office this summer? Willing to greet and seat our audiences as an usher (and see the show for free)? Interested in getting some hands-on experience with lighting or sound? We want to talk to you! New and returning box office, front-of-house, and tech crew volunteers are invited to stop by the theatre, ask questions, and sign up for Summer 2015. Board members will be on hand to introduce you to ASGT.
The Arc Central Chesapeake Region
The Arc advocates for and supports County citizens with developmental disabilities. Volunteers are needed to serve on the board of directors, help with fund raising, assist in the office, and to help with special events. Volunteers, 16 years and older, are also needed as gardening assistants at the Arc’s sensory garden in Annapolis, including plant care, patio maintenance, planting trees/shrubs, etc. and to help with leaf and yard maintenance at 30 homes the Arc manages throughout the County. · 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, Sat. June 6, 2015, Run for a Reason 5K/10K Fundraising Race: Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of tasks on race day at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. Help is needed with check in and registration, and as traffic, water table, and finish line monitors. Run for a Reason 5K/10K is a race anyone can participate in! Run, walk, or wheel your way across the finish line to benefit children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The funds raised from this event will assist families in crisis, get children the medication and therapies they need and support The Arc’s programs and services. Living Classrooms–The National Capital Region April 25, 2015Kingman Island Festival
On Saturday, April 25th, Living Classrooms Foundation will host the annual Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival on Kingman Island in Washington, DC. This great local music festival drew a crowd of over 10,000 people last year - and we are expecting an even bigger turnout this year! This means we need a HUGE amount of volunteer support to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Volunteers are needed to help with everything from ticket sales to serving beer to sound equipment set-up. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, free admission to the event, and one free beer (for volunteers 21 years of age or older only). To volunteer at this event, sign up at:http://vols.pt/k3cGdT. Maryland Therapeutic Riding
Located in Crownsville, Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR) is a Premier Accredited Therapeutic Riding Center that offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons for children and adults with special needs. Volunteers, ages 14 and up, assist with riding lessons and are needed throughout the week to assist with horse care, barn and facility maintenance, and also assist with special events, serve on committees including fund raising, and general office duties. · 4:30–9:30 pm, Sat., May 2, 2015, Derby Day Benefit Event:Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of tasks to include event registration, silent and live auction monitors, cashiers, set up and clean up, and more. Volunteers are needed Fri., May 1 from 12-6 pm, Sat., May 2 from 9 am-11:30 pm, and Sunday, May 3 from9am-12pm. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to assist with set up and clean-up and 18 years old to volunteer during the event. Groups are welcome! 11th Annual MELLFIN Conference, Thurs., May 20, 2015
The dynamic MELLFIN Annual Conference brings together 300 educators of English Language Learners from all over Maryland. MELLFIN (The Maryland English Language Learners Family Involvement Network) is a non-profit organization that depends on volunteers. Conference volunteers are invited to attend the conference at half-price ($25, instead of $50). A light continental breakfast and generous lunch are included. · 7:30 – 10:30 PM, Wed., May 19, Pre-Conference Set-Up: Volunteers are needed for set-up of about 30 tables and 300 chairs for the luncheon and to set up about 40 chairs in each of the 10 break-out rooms. To sign up go to: www.aacvc.org/OpportunityCalendar.

North County High School, Mock Interviews, April 16 & 17, 2015
Volunteers are needed from 7:20–2:00 p.m. (for approximately 1&1/2 hr. time slots) on 4/16-17/15 to conduct Mock Interviews and provide students with verbal and written feedback on both their resume and interview. Volunteer for a shift or two or stay the whole day. Those interested in something less structured are also being sought to engage in career conversations with students and also to provide help with writing resumes. Sample questions and an evaluation sheet for the Mock Interviews and a sample format to help guide the Career Conversations will be provided prior to the event. Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, The (UCF)
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults (UCF) provides free support programs, education, and resources to benefit young adults affected by cancer, as well as their family and friends, while promoting awareness and prevention of cancer. The UCF relies on volunteers to help us spread our message hope and fight. If you have free time and are committed to enhancing lives by supporting, educating and connecting young adults, and their loved ones, affected by cancer please contact us. We need volunteers for a variety of positions working directly with young adult cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Both organizations have long recognized the importance of providing direct support to patients and families affected by the disease and believe that coming together will serve even more people in need.
