A fatal crash in Glen Burnie claimed a woman's life and hospitalized a child, police said.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A fatal crash in Glen Burnie claimed a woman's life and hospitalized a child this weekend, county police announced.
Officers identified the victim as 21-year-old Ashley Hosein of Glen Burnie.
The two-car wreck happened Saturday around 4 p.m. near Point Pleasant Road and Inglewood Drive, authorities said.

Hosein was driving a 2006 Subaru sedan west on Point Pleasant Road. The sedan crossed onto the other side of the road and hit a 2022 Ford pick-up truck heading in the opposite direction, police said. The collision was nearly head-on.
The sedan driver was trapped in her car and needed to be removed by first responders. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced her dead on the scene, a press release said.

Medics drove Hosein's juvenile passenger to Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, officers said.
Authorities said the truck driver suffered minor injuries but did not go to the hospital.
Police did not speculate what caused the crash.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
