Woman Reports Being Raped Behind Dumpsters In Glen Burnie: Police

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is searching for a man they say raped a woman in a Glen Burnie parking lot.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Detectives are searching for a man they believe raped a woman Wednesday at approximately 10 p.m. in the 6300 block of Ritchie Highway. The woman told Anne Arundel County police officers that she had arranged a ride and was picked up by a man in the 800 block of Elkridge Landing Rd., Linthicum. The man drove her to Ritchie Highway and circled around a parking lot then stopped by dumpsters. He pulled the woman from the vehicle and behind the dumpsters.

A witness who saw the man drag the woman from the vehicle and behind the dumpsters told a hotel lobby clerk to call 911, according to a police report. The man was armed with a knife, the woman said. She was sexually assaulted and had personal items taken. After the assault, she ran into the hotel lobby for help.

Detectives searched the area for the vehicle, sought witnesses from the point where the woman had been picked up and secured digital evidence. The man has been described as being between 25 and 30 years of age with short hair, a goatee and an average build. He was driving a dark-colored Hundai sedan at the time.
