The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Glen Burnie.

(Patch Media)

Happy Friday, neighbors! Let's get you all caught up on what's happening locally to start today off on an informed note.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and cooler. High: 67 Low: 53. Is this Maryland's third or fourth fall? I've lost count!

Here are the top stories in Glen Burnie today:

  1. In the early hours of April 14, a 15-year-old male was robbed. It happened in the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle in Odenton. The victim was able to make it to a friend's house and called police. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and declined further treatment. (A.A. County)
  2. On April 14, a man found himself at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center. He was waiting at a bus stop when a car approached, and several men got out. They chased and then repeatedly hit the victim with their guns. (Newsbreak)
  3. Arundel Federal Savings Bank has teamed up with BKind. From today through May 31 donations can be dropped off at the bank. Gently used or new clothes and toys are accepted. (Severna Park Voice)
  4. Sadly, a 75-year-old woman died from her injuries from a house fire on Monday, April 11. A neighbor saw smoke coming from the house and called the fire department. Joann Marie Smith was in cardiac arrest when she was pulled from the house. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. (CBS Baltimore)
  5. Many places are closed in observance of Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. The post office, libraries, government offices, trash pick-up and a variety of other places will either be closed or have a "holiday" schedule. Check the list before you venture out. (Glen Burnie Patch)
