Ameriprise Financial Volunteers Join Nationwide Effort to Feed Hungry Families with GAIL
Local effort was one of more than 400 Ameriprise-sponsored events throughout the country on Nov. 14

On November 14th, Ameriprise Financial advisors, employees and clients recently came together to help ensure Greenbelt area families have nutritious meals to share this holiday season. Organized by Preal Haley & Associates in association with Greenbelt Assistance in Living (GAIL), nine people volunteered at the Greenbelt Community Service to assemble holiday meal packages. This effort was centered around helping the one-in-six Americans who struggle with hunger.
The event was part of an annual national day of service organized by Ameriprise in partnership with Feeding America, the nation’s leading anti-hunger organization. More than 10,000 Ameriprise financial advisors, employees and clients from across all 50 states spent the day helping more than 400 hunger-relief organizations prepare for increased demand for services around the holiday season. The national effort has become Feeding America’s largest partner volunteer event in the country.
“We are proud to give back on a local level by providing our time in addition to collecting, sorting, packaging and distributing turkeys, fresh produce and canned goods to 25 families, ranging from families of two-to-families of eight, in Prince George’s County,” says Preal Haley. She continues, “This, our fifth National Day of Service, was the largest yet. I am proud to take part in a legacy of giving back to the community in which I work, alongside my colleagues and clients at Ameriprise Financial. Together, we helped millions of families facing hunger put food on the table and that is a true feat.”
