Maryland comptroller failed to pursue $600 million, audit finds (thederrick.com) — Greenbelt briefly takes the spotlight as the backdrop for a March event where Maryland leaders promoted an expanded Earn It tax credit campaign, now contrasted by a new audit criticizing the comptroller's tax collection efforts. The report says the office failed to fully pursue over $600 million in unpaid taxes, even as officials defend their modernized enforcement strategies.
