Group Bike Trips to DC in March
Schedule for group fun rides from Greenbelt/College Park
The weather's getting warmer, and March is a great month for community bike rides to DC. These rides are casual and loosely guided; we take a moderate pace and no one is dropped or left behind. The rides start and end at Proteus bike shop in north College Park.
The purpose is fun and exploration -- lots of people would like to be able to ride to DC, but have never been shown the easiest ways! Average distance for the round trip to DC is about 35 miles. Bring your farecard to take Metro back to Greenbelt if you wish to take a shorter ride (Metro allows bikes on weekends and non-rush hour during the week.)
Here's the tentative schedule:

1. Sunday March 11, 1pm - 5pm. To DC's Hains Point (a nice place to ride laps) with a lunch stop at Eastern Market and a coffee stop near Union Station. Greenbelt riders can meet us at the New Deal Cafe at 12:30pm to head over to the start.
2. Tuesday March 20, 12pm - 4pm. Join the Tim Johnson ride on DC -- a group of bike activists are riding from Boston to DC for the national bike summit. This ride will join them for the last leg to DC (White House, Capitol) before returning to the shop. For last-minute information on timing and events, check this discussion thread.
